The VDWC is responsible for protecting the rights of people with disability in the Australian state of Victoria. It supports the safety and quality of disability services available to Victorians by regulating registered and unregistered disability workers in the state. As an independent government agency, the VDWC investigates complaints and maintains public registries of qualified disability workers.
Ellis Jones was employed with the task of launching a registration campaign, which encouraged disability workers to register themselves, to ensure a stronger and safer disability sector in Victoria. The public campaign consisted of two 60s spots that were converted into 6 shorter videos for television, digital and social ads.
I contributed towards pre-production tasks like location and talent scouting, as well as supported the team during the production cycle. Our research directed us towards using real-life disability workers and people with disabilities to authentically depict the impact registration can have on improving safety and the overall quality of life within the community.
